AIDAblu - Christening in Hamburg

On the 9th of February 2010 at 8 p.m. the christening of AIDAblu shall take place with a breathtaking show. It is the seventh vessel of AIDA Cruises. The world famous Hamburg Fischmarkt is going to be turned into an imaginative party arena for all AIDA enthusiasts and onlookers.

All participants of this event will celebrate and share their thrills on four platforms to the climax in the evening: Designer Jette Joop will smash a bottle of champagne on the bow and give in traditional manner the ship its name. Jette Joop specially designed a christening robe for this ceremony with countless Swarovski stones.

The audience can follow the show via a big screen. The Winterdorf is the best to enjoy the spectacular firework display over Hamburg harbour and also has various catering stations set up for the event. It is opened from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and it is free for the public to visit.

After this it „cast off“ and on the maiden voyage from Hamburg to Palma de Mallorca. On the 14 day way back to Hamburg AIDAblu will stop off in Barcelona, Valencia, Tangier, Cádiz, Lisbon, La Coruña, Santander, Paris/Le Havre and London/Dover.
