AIDAcara – heads towards Southeast Asia

In September 2009 extensive maintenance and repair works were made which are not possible to do whilst the ship is in operation. The renowned shipyard Blohm + Voss in Hamburg was responsible for carrying out a number of renovation projects on the ship. After all the AIDA Cara started its service in 1996 and has given around 600.000 guests unforgettable holiday memories.
One of the major overhauls was undertaken in the Market Restaurant where a larger service counter has been integrated for up to 458 people. The main kitchen of the ship is equipped with the most modern technical features and the guest cabins shine in the new splendour of warm colours with previous olive wood.

The propeller and hull have been extensively cleaned in order to reduce friction loss under water and also to save on fuel. After this there were no problems to be expected when Lloyd conducted their inspection.

Now the AIDA Cara has set off in direction of Southeast Asia and will be taking course towards some of the most beautiful destinations like Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Vietnam.
